McDonald's Zero-Carbon Restaurant

McDonald's "zero-carbon restaurant" is located in the first gourmet commercial complex of Baiyun Mountain in Guangzhou - Yunshan Tiandi, with a total area of nearly 20,000 square meters.
This three-story all-glass curtain wall building is inspired by the rocks of Baiyun Mountain, resembling a translucent jade stone falling at the foot of Baiyun Mountain.
Zero-Carbon and Sustainable Design Concept
This is McDonald's first integrated "zero-carbon restaurant" with light storage in the Chinese market. Combining the sustainable design concept, the restaurant adopts a green energy utilization model of "photovoltaic power generation + energy storage application." It generates an average annual electricity of about 55,000 kilowatt-hours, meeting the daily operational needs of the restaurant. The restaurant is designed and constructed according to the international authoritative green building Leed-certified "zero-carbon emission" standard, with some areas equipped with automatic induction lighting systems. Additionally, it utilizes green decoration materials that comply with the standards of GREENGUARD to create an environmentally friendly and safe restaurant space.
The "zero-carbon restaurant" has set a new replicable and promotable benchmark for the development of a "zero-carbon model" in the catering industry. It combines the brand's encouragement for customers to embrace a green and low-carbon lifestyle. In the space design, the "green" experience is integrated into every aspect of the customer journey. Through "digitalization + intelligentization," the restaurant is equipped with smart devices throughout the entire building. These devices not only illuminate the giant McDonald's "M" logo but also allow customers to wirelessly charge their phones through bike-driven devices, actively promoting energy-saving measures in the restaurant.
